Katy has six years of engineering experience in both commercial and clinical pharmaceutical manufacturing, from facility start-up and commissioning/qualification, to process equipment design, optimization, and on-going support.
Prior to ElevateBio, Katy was a Process Engineer for Wave Life Sciences where she supported the design and start-up of the company’s first oligonucleotide manufacturing facility, including qualification of the facility and all process equipment. Katy was responsible for the design and ongoing performance of both upstream and downstream GMP unit operations, as well as supporting the Facilities, Process Development, and Quality departments. Katy also supported internal and external technical transfer and CMO management. Before her work in oligonucleotides, Katy worked at Boston-based CQV firms, serving on validation projects, utilizing industry best practices for engineering lifecycle, change control management, and risk-based CQV.
Education & Accomplishments
Katy received her B.S. in Chemical & Biological Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her M.S. in Engineering Management from Tufts University.
